- Oil-Rubbed Bronze Finish
- Handling and frequent use create the bronze patina that is the hallmark of the oil-rubbed bronze finish. With use, your hands will polish away the darker material, exposing the bronze beneath. To care for this finish, occasionally apply light machine oil to deepen the color and sheen of the untouched portions of the product. Cover the metal parts with oil entirely, allow the oil to stand for a few minutes, then gently rub off the excess with a clean cloth. Never use abrasives, ammonia, or other harsh chemicals.

- Chestnut Finish
- The Chestnut finish is an updated application of a centuries old process used to prevent metal deterioration. Polished but unfinished brass is given an antique bronze coating and then hand rubbed with a dark oil formula. Initially the piece will be oily; however, the quick drying oil will evaporate over several weeks. Handling over time produces a lustrous patina. To maintain the look of this heirloom, oil occasionally with a thin coating of light machine oil. Cover the entire metal surface and let it set for a few minutes. Rub off the excess lightly with a clean cloth.
