• What is the Warranty for the Baldwin Touchscreen Deadbolt?
  Touchscreen Deadbolt products comes with a Lifetime Mechanical and Standard Finish Warranty along with a 1 Year Electronic Warranty to the original residential user of the product against defects in material and workmanship as long as the user occupies the residential premises upon which the product was originally installed. This warranty does not cover scratches, abrasions, deterioration due to the use of paints, solvents or other chemicals, abuse, misuse or product used in commercial applications.
• What type of security is offered with the Touchscreen Deadbolt with Z-Wave Technology?
  Baldwin Touchscreen Deadbolt with Z-Wave technology employs 128-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) communication with a Z-Wave 500 chipset.
• What is auto lock and how do I turn it off?
  The door indicator light on the interior trim will blink green, amber or red to indicate unlocked, locked or low battery status. To disable, uninstall the interior trim by removing the two screws, locate the switches on the electronic interior and slide switch # 1 to the down or off position.
• How many user codes can be programmed into the Baldwin Touchscreen Deadbolt?
  Up to 16 customizable user codes for stand alone and 30 for Z-Wave version with 4 to 8 digit code length.
• What if my door is thicker than 1-3/4"?

  The Touchscreen Deadbolt as supplied will install on a 1-3/4” thick door, but Baldwin does offer a thick door conversation kit that can be purchased separately to support a door thickness of 2” to 2-1/4” thick. The item number for the conversation kit is 8421.000.TP01. Note: The Touchscreen does not support a door thickness smaller than 1-3/4”.

• How long will batteries last?
  The batteries will last one year under normal use conditions, based on the motorized deadbolt being cycled ten times a day.
• Which Smart Home Hubs/Controllers can Baldwin Touchscreen Deadbolt connect with?
  Baldwin Touchscreen Deadbolt can connect with most Z-Wave Smart Home Hubs/Controllers on the market. With the changes in technology, our engineers are always working to update the product to function with as many systems as possible.
• What should I do if the motor sounds like it is struggling to lock or unlock the deadbolt?
  This usually happens when the batteries are dying. If you have recently changed your batteries, there may be an issue with the bolt rubbing against the strike or the door's weather stripping that is placing an additional load on the bolt and thereby draining the batteries. This requires the strike to be adjusted to ensure the deadbolt latch is operating smoothly.

• What level of security does the Touchscreen Deadbolt provide?
  Touchscreen Deadbolt exceeds ANSI/BHMA Grade 2 security test standards.
• What is SecureScreen™ Technology and how do I disable it?
  SecureScreen™ Technology provides additional security by employing random digits prior to entering your personal code to prevent fingerprint and code detection. To disable, uninstall the interior trim by removing the two screws, locate the switches on the electronic interior and slide switch # 4 to the down or off position.
• How do I mute the beep sound on the deadbolt?
  To disable the beeping sound, uninstall the interior trim by removing the two screws, locate the switches on the electronic interior and slide switch # 3 to the down or off position.
• How do I activate or wake-up the Baldwin Touchscreen Deadbolt?
  Activate the Touchscreen Deadbolt with your palm or the back of your hand.
• What happens if the batteries die?

  Prior to the batteries dying, the interior LED indicator light will flash amber/red or green/red depending on lock/unlock status.  In addition, when the exterior screen flashes the checkmark and lock symbols simultaneously five times with a long continuous beep the batteries need to be changed. When the batteries die, the codes are stored in non-volatile RAM on the RF card. The lock bolt will remain in the position it was last in. The motor will not operate. Entrance is still availabe with a key.

• Is the Touchscreen Deadbolt fire rated?
  Touchscreen Deadbolt offers UL certified 20 minute fire rating.
